Happy belated Christmas and New Years wishes to all!

I spent my christmas cruising around the caribbean with family and while that sounds like an ideal way to spend Christmas, the lack of cold weather and being with family 24/7 was surprisingly difficult. I missed hanging out with my friends, I missed my dogs and my nan. I missed being at home in my own bed, I missed being able to be lazy and sleep in ...I really really did miss my own bed. The bed on the cruise was rock hard, so hard that every time I moved on it I felt like my hip was slowly and painfully being grated away.

I'm off to work at Disney in less than two weeks which means 6 months of pure American-ness! I unlike the majority of europeans (I hate being classed as European, I'm British, we're higher class, we used to rule the world for christ's sake ;) ) love all things american, I really do. Give me a husband with an american accent and I'm set for life. After my disney stint I'll be state hoping for 3 weeks before being forced to return to the *cough* lovely *cough* UK.

So to those who randomly read this journal and are american; suggestions of fun things to do while I'm on your side of the pond would be greatly appreciated. I'm already hitting the Britney concert in Tampa, FL in march. Woot!! "It's Britney, Bitch!"

During the last two days of my cruise I got into Bones...I've watched s2 and s3 and am making my way through s4! The David Boreanaz love is back!

Okay first of all do you think Taylor and I make a cute couple? I think our kids would be beautiful (his genes), tall (both of ours, I'm 6') and funny (my genes). Just a little randomness to start off the post.

Supernatural is kickin' ass this season. I had reservations concerning the 'God' storyline but it's definately shaping up in an interesting way, with Dean being the go-to guy for those less than angelic angels. But let's not forget the golden boy, Sam Winchester...he certainly has his own demons to fight this year. I've found my attention wavering from my favourite shows this season..
.Come on, you know you wanna know more.... )

I'm out on the town tonight with some work collegues (aha, I sound all grown up!). I've decided simple black jeans and a black thin strappy top with makeup galore. Hopefully it'll be a good night out - it's been about a ...year since I last p-a-r-t-y-ed, so hopefully I'll remember how to boogey! Most of my clubbing days took place during high school (typically saturday nights, sometimes thurs- boy friday morning english was fun!)

Anyhoos - FNL is kinda back and rocking. Though I wanted to see a little more of Matt/Julie in the first episode, they are so fricken adorable together but I aint complaining because got Riggin's! Boy oh boy is the man a stunning. I just wanna curl around him to keep warm. Riggins/Taylor I dont care.

True Blood tomorrow night for those in the states. Monday afternoon for me as I am unfortunately working at 6am (GAH!) I loved the introduction of Eric last week <3 but lets see some more Bill/Sookie action first! And I love Pam! She's just too cool, bondage wearing vampire chick and her memory vault!

Private Practice was good - go Addison, puttin the boot to Neighhh *cue horse noise* And of course David Sutcliffe was back aka Rory's dad, aww how cute. Good to see Christopher I mean SWAT guy!

Supernatural - Kicked ass. It was all about my Dean *swoons* His momma was fricken beautiful and his grandpa had spunk, cant ya just see the family resemblence. I honestly cannot wait until Dean figures out what Sammy's up to - it'll be a scolding for the young winchester and hopefully more for new and NOT improved Ruby. I miss Katie she was fiesty!!

Smallville - Um how to make a succesful episode. Oliver = Check. Clark not in his red jacket = Check. Clark and Oliver together = Check. This season sure is looking DAMN good. All of the hotness and I dont know where to turn,

Pushing Dasies was sweet - though I might wait for it to air over here that way I'll have something to watch when the programmes go on hiatuses!!

A little manip of my favourite BOY TOY!:

Bonjourno my fellow television addict friends!! This post is dedicated to this week's tv programmes (the ones that have aired so far.)
On my list, True BloodGossip Girl90210, Teminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles and Heroes. This week will see the return of my other favourite shows such as Desperate HouswivesBrothers and SistersGrey's Anatomy, Smallville, Supernatural and Sons of Anarchy (Did I miss any out??) One Tree Hill has taken a back seat to my other shows at the moment, my patience with the show is wavering due to the incredibly unrealistic SOAP OPERA storylines. I mean Nanny Carrie WTF? Seriously. Kick her ass out of the show and kill off Dan already, he's survived one too many deadly situations. Lucas and Peyton are finally back on track, that is the only thing that I can say is keeping my interest in this show. Honestly season five (the beginning at least) was so well written, the pace was just right and the angst wasn't forced it was just there. But cue the writers strike and it's like, soap opera central once again. Whatever happened to good quality writing? At least when Heroes hit the rocks last year, the writers fessed up to their mistakes and tried to get back on track...anyways, enough with the OTH rant.

TRUE BLOOD
True Blood is a unique show not because of the theme (vampires seem to be everywhere these days, though I'm not complaining as I kinda have a fetish, an unhealthy interest in vampires...whatever you wanna call it) but because of the dark nature of the show. Sure shows like Buffy and Angel touched on dark subjects but it never really touched on the whole erotica that is associated with the undead. Moonlight went against the grain and brought the vampire out into daylight (just as Twilight did, *sigh* Edward!).  But True Blood has the vampire living in dirt during the day (As Henry did in Blood Ties...okay well he actually slept on a king size bed, but still during the daylight hours he was kaput) and prowling the dark streets at night. They've been brought out of the coffin and are visible to regular humans and the not so regular cue Sookie Stackhouse.
This weeks episode I felt centered a little too much on other characters. I'm a big fan of Sookie and her flighty ways so I thought she was pushed to the back in this episode and Tara was pushed forward. Now I'm all for Tara as she's a fighter, but hooking up with Sam was ..a no no. Sam's just too lovely and Tara's very brazen. Oh well...next week we'll get to see a certain blonde hair viking esque vampire *swoons*

GOSSIP GIRL
Extend the claws ladies because we have a serious catfight on our hands. This weeks episode was just FANTASTIC. The scheming, the back stabbing, the jealousy it's a true portrayal of the teenage life and it bloody brilliant to watch. Serena and Dan are clearly being touted as the meant to be couple but we're in our second season now so there has to be that time apart. (Much like the OC, with Marissa/Ryan) but unlike Ryan, Dan Humphrey is a bit of a manwhore. Hooking up with random girls during the summer and then making the moves on the so called Amanda? Not cool bro, not cool. Though it did bring out the worst or as I like to view it, the best in everyone. Blair and Chuck's scheming ways never grow old and these two are quite simply put...made for each other. Serena coming out and readying herself to shine once again...it was about time. She was holding back with Dan because she didn't want that life but his comment to her at the end of the episode, well it's gonna make him wish he'd never said anything!!
The V and N hookup over? What already....let me say this sarcastically, "Aww shame" They were never meant for one another and after their break up in season one...why on earth did the writers go back there. They had set it up for the D/V future, with Vanessa looking at him with puppy dog eyes and Nate walking down the street, practically arm in arm with Serena...and then the start of season two and it doesn't follow suit? Shameful but predictable.

90210
Not really one of my favourites but definately likeable. This episode was good if not for TY and his gorgeous smile. Seriously that boy is far too good looking (and he reminds me of Tom Welling) As a teen drama it's gonna be filled with the typical issues, betrayal, sex, lying, sex etc.

Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles
A good episode, a little less Cameron/John time than I would have liked but it was good none the less. I'm just looking forward to next weeks episode where we find out about Cameron's past. I sooo cannot wait for that. Oh and whats up with the blonde chick trying to get John's attention, back up girlfriend...he's in love with a Robot, if you dont mind (or at least my little fan girl heart wishes.)

and now onto....HEROES
The writers severely f'd-up with season two. The storylines were moving away from the characters whom we had grown to love over 22 episodes. The only good thing to come out of season two was the addiction of the psychotic Elle. She's just pure class. Season three entitled "Villains" has gotten off to a good start though I would have liked for Mya to die (seriously couldnt they just kill her off with her pointless brother) Hiro also is a little annoying.. harping on about his destiny, gosh man, grow a set and find it your bloody self!!
Good points of the episode: Elle, future Peter, Nathan not dying, Noah being released. Sylar and Claire moments.
Bad points: Mohinder trying to be a good, Hiro and his little sidekick.

Who's my ideal TV boyfriend? Taken from [info]chantarelle

Aww Michael is by ideal boyfriend? Awesome, maybe I need to start watching Prison Break again?

Anyways let me know what you thought of the shows you've watched this week!!

Oh and I'm back making some icons and other stuff, I need a community to join where I can post it. Anyone know of any good ones?

Tropic Thunder
Monday I travelled up to London to spend a week at my dad's flat (as he was away in Washington on business), it was good to get away from the normal day to day life I'm currently leading back home which mainly consists of work, watch tv, debate whether to go swimming, gointo to the cinema etc. My friend Sarah met up with me on Tues and we hit TGI's, I ordered a bbq half rack of ribs only to discover that at 3pm they were out of bbq! How the heck does that happen? I mean seriously? I instead had a mango and chilli sauce with the ribs, tasty but it was no bbq. We then, as little miss piggies do...went to the Haagen Daaz cafe situated in the Leicester Square, overlooking the Odeon where fans were waiting to catch a glimpse of the stars from Tropic Thunder. The only premiere that I've really been to was Star Wars: Revenage of the Sith (and that's because I;m a huge star wars fan)...wait, no I glimpsed at one of the HP premieres one day after uni...and saw Malfoy...but anyways back to the here and now.
I had said to [info]misst89 that as I was going to London I would go the premiere...and so I did...

Photobucket
Ben was the first of the stars to arrive. He got out of his silver car and headed straight to the fans! That my friend is movie star quality!

Photobucket
Jack Black was the next to arrive. He skipped over to the press to begin with (the gathered crowd thought he was going to shun us, but he didn't. Oh no, the guy standing next to me asked for a photo with him ^^ I was going to ask, but I felt rude haha.
Photobucket
Alot of my photos came out blurry - damn camera. I swear, I'm usually a fricken ace with it but that night I was less than stellar...as you will see.

Photobucket
This photo was taken from my iphone. Doesn't Ben look funny!!
Photobucket
Robert was the last to arrive. I thought that perhaps he wasnt coming as the other stars had already been around, talked with the press and their awaiting fans...but he showed! And headed to greet fans (he wasn't really taking photos with people but he was signing things...unfortunately I had nothing for him to sign!!)

Photobucket
And this is where [info]misst89 will kick my ass, because my photos of RDJ are not very good quality. That photo was taken by my iphone.
All of my RDJ pictures have a light reflecting behind him.

And there we have it ladies and gentleman...(I have more photos but they are seriously BLURRED!)

I went and saw Tropic Thunder on Weds evening and was practically crying with laughter from the beginning. The fake trailers were so fricken hilarious..."Satan's Alley with Tobey Mcguire..." etc. Tom Cruise's cameo was HILARIOUS! The film was just far too funny...espec towards the end where Ben is running away from the camp with his little "Adopted" son on his back. Reminds me of Psycho!!

What else did I do during the week? Some shopping and I went to see Wicked, which was really good. Am now back at home, able to catch up on my shows that I've missed which havent been many thanks to the iphone, I swear I love it...it keeps me connected with the world!

Smallville is back...and dare I say better than ever?
Gossip Girl is still rocking...
Supernatural was good...glad to see the boys back!
Terminator was alright...I like my John/Cameron moments though and there werent too many in this episode :(
And I am looking forward to watching True Blood early monday morning!
Just gotta catch up with Sons of Anarchy, 90210 and I'm set I think...

Dedicated to[info]misst89 for prompting me to post an entry.

Been a while since I updated, I of course blame the summer for this...or well the lack of one. I mean honestly how is one supposed to go out and tan when 1) she's working during the preferable tanning times and 2) there was barely any sun this whole summer. It's ridiculous and very British!!

I'm just finishing the week from hell - and I mean that literally. For the past seven nights my nanny's IRISH relatives have been staying at our house. And by george do they talk loud and swear far too much. I thought my family was all for the drama but seriously they just bitch and backstab one another. It's GREAT. Is it wrong to love hearing gossip?

Finally MY shows are coming back...woot woot! Gossip girl is back on form and dare I say, rauchier than ever? I'm looking forward to this season! The season opener started just the way I like it, a little bit of Serena/Nate and hella lot of Chuck/Blair. I mean honestly, no disrespect to the OC (Because I was a fan) but I'm liking this much more especially if it doesn't fall into the pitfal of "SOPHMORE SLUMP" as Heroes did. And with my shows coming back so does my art which took a three month hiatus practically (minus the Twilight stuff!)

Did anyone watch True Blood last night? I say last night because it aired for you guys who are states bound (Lucky sods!) I of course streamed it (and when I decide on which anti-virus software to have for my laptop I will download it, like the illegal moose I am) Anyhoos, I am a follower of the Sookie Stackhouse series...and it stayed so close to the books that I was shocked. I found my attention divided between the Sookie/Bill ship and Sookie/Sam. Gah! It's just like the books...and when a certain blonde haired male Viking-esque vampire strolls in I will mostly like have three ships :) Yay! If you didn't watch it, well you should...but with caution. It's a tad...ugh, raunchy? LOL! Oh dear, at least it follows the traits of most vampire novels :)

One Tree Hill - I am finding myself more and more turned off by the show. I've watched it religiously for five years but this year, I dont know. The soap opera is becoming a tad bit much. I mean what was with bringing Nanny Carrie back? Seriously? The only parts of this years opener I watched was those that consisted of LP...and even then I found myself wavering. Ah, say it ain't so Sam! Hopefully the second episode will keep my attention but there are no guarantees!

Reading: I read a trilogy over this weekend by Vikki Pettersson. It's essentially has a superhero theme minus all the kick ass superhero stuff. Light vs Dark. Blonde vs Brunette lol. It was a good read, so if you're looking for something I suggest those. However dont make the same rookie mistake I did and buy the second book first...I should have read the back properly. Ah well, read them all now.

Midnight Sun: I like Breaking Dawn, I mean I didn't love it but it was alright. Midnight Sun on the other hand...left me dying for more. I love reading Twilight from Edward's point of view, it's just magical....in a twisted, I want to suck your blood kind of way. If you haven't read it...do, because SM most likely wont release it for a LONG while unless she has a change of heart!!

News with Me: I'm heading up to London on thurs just to chill for a week. It will be good to have some time off from work and ponder the meaning of life...and also decide what it is exactly I want to do with my life. I have an interview in London at the end of September to spend a six months in Florida, working at Disney while studying one day a week at the University of Central Florida...so maybe a change of scenary will be nice. Who knows...

Oh and I am so PIMPING out this fanfiction: www.fanfiction.net/s/4399727/1/
It's a wonderful Twilight AU fic...but incredibly in character. The girl writing it ...is another SM in waiting, I swear. So if you're a twilight fan and find it hard to come across GREAT fictions, go and read.

+Okay so I've literally just got in from the cinema. I went to see Mamma Mia (a film which I thought was definately not for me as I'm not really a huge ABBA fan but the trailer looked funny so I thought what the heck.) Anyways, it was fantastic. And I don't mean fantastic as in go out and watch it right now because if you don't you're missing out on one of the best movies of the year...I mean hilariously fantastic. Go see it if you want to laugh and just to have be bombared with GOOD cheese. So many people are Colin Firth fans and I honestly cannot see it, I mean he's a good actor but the attraction is just not there. Apparently the scene where he comes out of the water in pride and prejudice turns alot of girls heads, well not this head. I still do not find him attractive but he certainly turned my head in the funniest way. If you watch the movie, stay til the end of the credits you will NOT  be disappointed!! Amanda was soo beautiful in the film and of course...it was far too funny watching BOND sing! I repeat GREAT CHEESE!

++ The drive home was possibly even funnier. It takes about half an hour to get to Norwich (where the decent cinemas are), so on the way home windows were down, three out of five of us were singing random ABBA songs to people walking the streets. Haha, yes, I do this alot...sing to random strangers. It's fun.

+++ The Dark Knight in less than two weeks. I am sooo pumped for this movie, its ridiculous!

++++ All this Twilight stuff is making me go dizzy. Love it all...even Rob's dirty hands. Haha.

+++++Possibly getting the iphone 3g tomorrow...depending on whether they have them in stock at O2. I hope so :)

Your Birthdate: February 14

You work well with others. That is, you're good at getting them to do work for you.

It's true that you get by on your charm. But so what? You make people happy!

You're dynamic, clever, and funny. And people like to have you around.

But you're so restless, they better not expect you to stay around for long.

Your strength: Your superstar charisma

Your weakness: Commitment means nothing to you

Your power color: Fuchsia

Your power symbol: Diamond

Your power month: May

So credit has to go to [info]misst89, for both the extremely accurate "What Does Your Birth Date Mean" and also the pretty sweet new layout I'm rockin'!

What's new in the world of Laura?

** Last week, my friend Nicki and I ventured four hours north to go to Alton Towers. For those of you who are unfamiliar with Alton Towers, it could be compared to one of the Universal Theme parks...only not as good. (Alton Towers is good, but Universal is just...phenominal!) We stayed the night and hit the park twice, which was good because we got to ride some of the death defying rides over again. I LOVE air, it's a great roller coaster where your practically lying down for the most part...so when you take off and you're being flung around the tracks, it's like your flying. In many of the photos we took on the ride, I either hit up the rock on sign or had my arm extended out like supergirl!!

****My nan took a fall a couple of weeks ago, so she's been in hospital since then. They've basically said she's not coming out untll she can eat and walk properly. She's been diagnosed with Bowel Cancer (with a few spots in the lungs), and the docs have given her 4-6 months. She's 79, so she's had a nice long life...but it's still weird. I've never lost anyone clost to me before and my nan, well she's lived with us since I was born so she's always been around. Still havent really digested that news yet - but she's a stubborn old mule, so I honestly expect her to go on for longer.

*****I'm still trying to convince my friend Nicki to go back to Florida this September. She says she might not be able to afford it...but I really need a holiday and preferably one in the States. I love America. I really do...so many Europeans have issues with those across the pond and I honestly cannot fathom why, the majority of them have probably never been so they dont know. Like at work the other day, I was chatting with a collegue saying how I love going to America for my hols and she just couldn't understand why? Um, hello, hot accents, nice people...good weather, excellent food...what more could you want out of life???? I mean....seriously! lol.

******I've watched Prince Caspian online again (illegally...shhh!) and cant help but fall in love with the Prince. He's just so lovely. Went the the cinema friday night to see THE INCREDIBLE HULK. It was good - so much better than that thing they released before...I remember coming out of seeing Ang Lee's version and proclaiming that I had just lost a good one hour and thirty minutes from my life. It's not that it was enjoyable...it just wasnt entertaining. Now...the INCREDIBLE HULK starring Ed Norton and Liv Tyler was entertaining and you felt for the characters. I liked how they showed you a little almost, prequel if you will...you get to see why the HULK has cut himself off from the one that he loves. It was good, not as good as IRON MAN but good none the less!

*******Is anyone else feeling a void? Where has all the good TV gone? I know they are on the hiatuses as the moment, but I mean honestly...there must be something to watch. I refuse to watch the shambles that is Big Brother...warning, a brain cell dies with each second you watch Big Brother.

Hmmm so last night I watched the MTV movie awards. Usually before the start of the show, we kind of have a count down on the red carpet, so you get to see who was wearing what, who was with who...but alas this year for some strange reason, MTV UK decided to forego the red carpet. Well...that didn't fly with me, seriously...I was expecting to watch The Twilight scene while tucked up in bed and eating a bowl of sweet and sour super noodles! But oh no, we dont get to see it...(I'm betting other countries did...which is why I've decided that MTV do no like us BRITS! *Sticks tongue out at them*) Anyways, the awards show itself...was "alright". A few years back before the Superhero hype (The downward spiral started when Justin Timberlake hosted the MTV Movie Awards...in what, '04?) MTV produced some funny movie sketches but this year...there was barely anything. *pouts* Then again I would rather it be basic than overkill...
I loved how every female in the audience (and some males ;) ) went crazy over Johnny Depp! Anne Hathaway screaming his name practically when she announced he was the winner, the writer of Juno going crazy in her seat, fanning herself down...all good stuff!!

MOVIES: I went to the cinema last friday night to watch Sex and the City...and was once again slightly disappointed. I mean it was a good movie because it was entertaining but...it just lacked a little spark...IMO, there was too much Carrie and too little Samantha..but then again I could be biased as Samantha is my favourite character! The night before last I decided to watch Prince Caspian (illegally I might add, it doesn't come out here til June 25th, or something ridiculous like that)...anyways I was pleasantly surprised. Ben Barnes who plays Prince Caspian is one heck of a good looking guy. I mean in the photos I've seen him in, I was a little torn but by gosh, the movie does him justice <3

TV: The Lost finale was awesome. Period. Last season I kinda had an inkling that it was John in the casket but how did he get off of the island? And Why? I mean he was determined more than anyone to stay on the island...so what gives? Also, we've seen Oceanic Six being rescued ...we've seem them three years on...so what now? How will the main narrative work? Will it focus on those on the island in the past? Will it focus on them in the present? Will it focus on the six going back to the island? It's all so intriguing...LOST got its MOJO back in season three and has yet to lose it!
And now for Grey's....Before the writers strike I was disappointed with practically every episode of season four. It just seemed like the writers were running around in circles...but after the writers strike, bam...it's back to business, ladies and gentleman. The show picked up, no more diddling around with Meredith/Derek...and how cute was their final scene together? Let's all "Awww" together!!

A shout out to Carl and Sara who are getting married today. I hope the two of you have a wonderful day, I hope it's perfect in every way. And don't forget pictures...tons and tons of pictures, please :)

A Twilight treat:

"You think you know a story, but you only know how it ends. To get to the heart of the story, you have to go back to the beginning." - Okay so technically not right back to the beginning for this little update but back to say, um, last week. Thursday 1st May was the opening day of Iron Man, now I'm no comic book geek (but I would be so proud if I were!!) but I tend to like films that are based on comics i.e Spiderman 1&2 (wasn't a big fan of no.3), X-Men 1-3, The Punisher etc...but I have to say that on Thursday the 1st May Iron Man officially kicked X-Men 2 from the top of my list. Iron Man rocked! From start to finish I was completely hooked, lined and sunk.

Soldier: Is it cool if I get a picture with you?
Tony Stark: Yes. Yes it's very cool. I don't wanna see this on your myspace page. Please, no gang signs. No, throw it up. I'm kidding.

From the "Back in Black" AC/DC music rocking beginning to the very "I am Iron Man" end, it was as Tony says, "Gr-r-reat!" If you haven't seen it, I recommend you do...you wont be disappointed!!

On Saturday after months of going back and forth with my sister, we finally decided to buy a wii...but not just any wii, oh no, we wanted to get Mario Kart with ours (Hey, most of you 90's kids will remember the kick ass super nintendo and the kick ass super mario kart and all stars games...) and we did. Friday night we bought the wii and saturday night we had our first wii game night! It was great, I was practising my tennis and dare I say, I'm getting better and one day I shall be able to defeat the almighty Dominic! Other than that, I kicked ass at Mario Kart...I expected to though (the first time I ever went on a Super Nintendo was at one of my dad's friend's house. I was probably what 7 or 8, the guy was playing on it...wanted to play against me and...yes, got his ass handed to him royally! I was a natural!)

Monday was my first barbecue day...where I was the barbecueist? I dont know if thats what you would call it, but I was the chef of the afternoon and my bbq's are good!!

Today...I wake up to a TWILIGHT teaser trailer and practically fall over myself watching it. Fourty seconds of pure greatness never felt better! I've been going a little crazy with the fanart as one would expect...I just cant help myself. Twilight is my addiction and I cannot wait for the movie to be released...I cannot wait for Breaking Dawn, I need to know whether Bella becomes a vampire, whether she marries Edward...so many things I need to know that I don't *tears out hair* Hehe!

So I've become a book worm recently, most funny chick flicks ...but there is one book which has totally captured my attention (I would say the Twilight series is my all time fav follow by HP!), but this book...or should I say books, are slowly catching up. The books are "Vampire Academy and Frostbite both books by Richelle Mead. I can't blame twilight for my interest in vampires, I can blame Buffy for that...but anyways. The books are hopefully going to be a series...and they are told from the POV of the protagonist, Rose Hathaway...she's a guardian (Half-Human, Half-Vampire) to her best friend Lissa (Moroi Princess *aka* mortal vampire). The guardian protect the Moroi from the Strigoi, immortal vampires who are violent, blood thirsty animals. Rose has problems controlling herself, she has attitude problems...and of course boy troubles!
Honestly, if you like vampires, fighting, bitchyness, boy drama, hot guys...arrogant and funny protagonists, you'll love these books!

Do I have anything else to post? Hmmm, not really except..how good is Gossip Girl, Desperate Housewives, Grey's Anatomy (getting back on form) and Lost? I mean seriously the writer's strike was a good thing...for Grey's at least. They recognised there was a problem and they fixed it!! One Tree Hill on the other hand is losing my interest a little, though this week's episode was more interesting than last weeks. We shall see how that progresses...

My inconsistant train of thought lately has been focused on the notion of "growing up." After school, you're supposed to go out into the big bad world and find yourself a job which most likely you will retain for the rest of your life (or at least be in the same career path) I did everything as I was supposed to. I went to high school (fair enough I didn't particularly study very hard as school for me, was more about socialising than learning.) But I got the grades and went off to university. Fair enough I studied a subject which my parents didn't condeem as suitable, but I went...I studied (again not very hard) and I graduated with a 2:1, which is pretty damn impressive really considering the lack of work I actually did. (The highest grade is a first, followed by 2:1, 2:2 and a third...so technically overall I got a B) It's almost a year since my course ended, since I stepped out into the so called real world and what have I discovered. The real world sucks. The world of high school and uni was much more vibrant, I had things to do, I socialised...now, my so called year out, I'm stuck in the rut...what to do with life? Do I go down the path of film/tv, I spent three years studying this so called craft...or do I go for the "safe" option and go into a graduate program with an oil company? Who knows, all I know is that I can't continue working part time in a clothes shop - no disrespect to people who work in clothes shops, maybe they dont have ambitions to do something more, maybe they have family ambitions...I don't, I have an ambition...I'm just not sure what it is. Oh well, good to rant.

Anyways on a less heavy note...was I the only one freaking out over the ET inside peek on the set of TWILIGHT. I am so excited for this movie, it's bordering pathetic! It really is...though I have now converted yet another friend to the series. (She stayed for a week, read Twilight and New Moon...and on her journey back home began to read Eclipse) *sigh* Such a good series, I can't wait for Breaking Dawn...I just hope the whole love triangle between Edward/Bella/Jacob is over...I mean I like Jacob and all, but he's no dazzling Edward, is he?

New episodes of OTH and Gossip Girl to air soon...I'm looking forward to them, it's pathetic but I live vicariously through the tv.
Went to the cinema last week and saw Step Up 2 (much better than the first, was I the only one who wanted to be a street dancer after watching it?) and 27 Dresses (cute, romantic comedy...) I'm looking forward to Leatherheads, 21 and Street Kings (Ah *sighs* Chris Evans...

I will openly admit to being one of those who weren't particularly keen on the casting of Robert as the dazzling Edward. Sure, I kind of liked him as Cedric in HP:atGoF, I thought he had been bitten by the cute bug but never really thought much more of it. So come time for the casting of Twilight and his name is annoucned, my thoughts were leaning towards, "Meh - okay, he's good looking but he isn't dazzling." Edward is supposed to be this mythical, breath-taking creature who can dazzle you with his scorching eyes or make you forget your name with a touch from his lips. I will again admit, that I remained on the fence of his casting until I saw pictures. Oh yes, I fell off the fence, right on my ass and suddenly found him very Edward, very "dazzling." Each day I look forward to seeing more pictures from the set, it may spoil me for the movie but I don't particularly care - I like to know things in advanced, which is why when I was waiting for Eclipse to come in the post, I read quotes online. *Slaps hand* Bad Laura! But it's an addiction. It really is, I was hooked, lined and sunk.

Why the topic of Twilight? Well two reasons, all of the GREAT set photos we've recieved over the past couple of days which has resulted in beautiul art being made! You know who you are! (Rissa etc!) and that I've just come back from a friend's house where we watched Beauty and the Beast....now call me crazy but Edward = Beast, Belle = Bella and on the days where I don't like Jacob, he = Gaston!!

Anyways on with the real world...had to go out and buy my nanny's easter eggs today. I don't usually mind doing it, because well...I usually get one, not just one but the BEST one. I pick them, I choose which one I have, fair's fair. Anyways, driving about town in my new, beautiful MINI Cooper (I still haven't got a name for him/her yet, I still haven't decided on the gender of my car, pathetic that I actually want to give it a name but so what, it's technically my first ever car where it's completely mine, and no one else can drive it!)...anyways, so back to the Easter Egg search, no I'll call it a hunt because it was a hunt. I went from Woolworths, to Tescos to Morrisons and then back to Woolworths because I'm trying to get decent, reasonably priced eggs...but apparently they don't exist. So I ended up getting decent ones, with the nice little mugs in them. (Did I mention that I "accidently" picked up two too many? Oops, oh well, I love chocolate!)

So that was my day...how was yours?

My weekends are pretty much routine. Saturday work 9-1, Sunday work 12.30-4.30. It's like a cycle. However a break in the traditiona cycle today, instead of going food shopping with the mother this afternoon, instead Nicki (a friend whom I've known since school and who is currently living in London) came by and we worked on our "Pilot." Nicki and I both studied media based degrees and our aim in life is to work in the TV/Film based world. Whether that happens or not is still debatable, but we're taking a small but steady step in creating our own path.

TV today is either really good, semi-alright or just plain bad. What are the network big heads thinking when they rehash tv series like "Bionic Woman" and "Knight Rider?" Where are all of the original tv shows like Lost and 24? The good drama's like Brothers and Sisters, Gilmore Girls etc? No, it's all about "Big Brother" and "The Hills", so called reality tv shows which are only made by the ordinary people in it seeking fame and fortune so they exploit themselves to ridiculous levels.
Reality Television should be BANNED. It is not good for your health!

Our "Pilot" is a drama based show. We're going for the Sex and the City/Veronica Mars/Friends dynamic. Dramatic and Comedic elements with strong characters. We're in the early stages of development, doing treatments and character backgrounds etc. All very exciting stuff!

Last night I went to see the new Jack Black movie, "Be Kind, Rewind." The film was OK, it wasn't bad but it wasn't great. Truth being told, the best parts are in the trailer (as they usually are, promote the good parts of a movie!). It could have been so much better, but that being said I quite liked Jack Black, Mos Def and Danny Glover in it. My opinion: Wait to rent it on dvd, why waste money buying a dvd if you haven't seen a film before? I've often bought a dvd I haven't seen, watched it and wished that I hadn't wasted £10+

On another note, went to a friend's Game Night on thursday. We played on the Wii, great fun though it takes skill, which I apparently lack. So note to self, practise and become Wii Champion!!

If you're a Twilight fan, what do you think of the Cast? I'm intrigued to your thoughts and opinions. And if you've read parts of the script, I wanna know what you think!

The first season of Lost had you sitting at the edge of the sofa, wondering where the polar bears came from? What's with that weird black smoke? What happens in the future? Why do they all have interconnecting lives before the crash? Well, three years on and we haven't got any of these answers...yet, but at least I'm still interested in the storyline.

Season one had me at "Hello", Season two kept ahold of my attention with the scarce Jate moments and the awesome cliffhanger ending. Needless to say, the so called sophmore slump which every programme goes through (apart from Grey's Anatomy which went through a season three slump and still continues to not perform at it's best) ended when Jack, Kate and Sawyer were held captive by the others in season three. Season Three: Jack makes eyes at blonde haired Juliett while Kate and Sawyer get done and dirty in a cage. Desmond comes back around. Charlie dies. Everyone gets rescued? Not quite.

The new people on the island have openingly said that their main goal is not to SAVE the islanders. Apparently Ben is...which brings up more questions. Why Ben? What's this about 3.2 million dollars? Why does Sayid work for Ben in the future?

All these questions have me once again hanging on the edge of my seat, looking forward to next week's episode.

Why the Lost RANT? Because it's my first "official" post. Yay me!

Quote of the day: Jack "I didn't mean it."
